A tropical treat – My take on a Bounty cocktail

Malibu is one of those ingredients that every one knows but no one pays much attention to. The sweet coconut flavoured rum-based drink is been around since the early eighties and it’s not particularly trendy.

But, if you like coconut flavoured sweets (and I very much do), you are in for a treat. One of my favourite ways to drink it is in a glass full of chopped ice, with a couple of shots of milk (or coconut milk if you want coconut overkill), a shot of Malibu and a sprinkle of cinnamon on top.

Said that, the recipe below takes that simple mixed drink to the next level…

– 3 oz Malibu coconut rum
– 0.5 oz condensed milk
– 2 oz milk
– 0.25 tsp cinnamon
– 0.25 tsp vanilla extract
– A piece of Bounty (for ganrnishing)

1. Add the Malibu rum, milk, condensed milk and vanilla to a cocktail shaker with ice and shake energetically.
2. Strain into a glass with ice cubes, top with cinnamon.
3. Garnish with a piece of Bounty on the side of the glass.
